📌 Repeat Shoplifting Suspects Arrested at ShopRite | Hoboken Police Cam
Around 5:15 PM on March 19, 2024, Officers Chelsea Tamborra and Rose Kanan of the Hoboken Police Department responded to a report of shoplifting at ShopRite located at 900 Madison Street.
Store loss prevention had detained two female suspects in the loss prevention office. Surveillance footage showed the suspects attempting to leave the store with 27 unpaid items totaling $155.61, after only paying for 2 items totaling $8.74.
Loss prevention staff advised officers that the suspects were believed to be repeat offenders, as they had been previously flagged by the store’s facial recognition system but fled before being apprehended.
🚨 Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Hoboken Police Department for processing. Each was charged with:
✔ One count of shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1))
After processing, both individuals were released with summonses pending their court appearance.
